Formaly stationed at Newhaven, she cost £34,500 to build. A gift from an anonymous donor. She was built by Osbourne's yard, Littlehampton. The watson design as proven, later developed the Oakley & Solent class lifeboat. KATHLEEN MARY was in the reserve fleet until late 1990 and was assigned relief duties around the coast of England. BB239 was built in 1991 at the Lowestoft Boat Building College using double diagonal mahogany with epoxy. She was built to a similar design to a McLachlan class lifeboat and operated as a boarding boat at Humber RNLI lifeboat station. She is immensely strong, a very capable sea boat and would make a very good workboat. She has been recently painted with a two pack paint system and had the original Mariner 50hp outboards removed and replaced with more modern versions.
