AMARA ZEE, (Heart of the Seas), is the World’s Only Purpose Built Theatre Ship. The Ship was designed & built by the Caravan Stage Society, a Non-Profit Charitable Organization.
The Amara Zee carries complete modern lighting, sound, & video tech systems, two 32kw generators, twin diesel engine propulsion engines, with complete living accommodation facilities for up to 20 crew & quests.
The Amara Zee is able to sail in any coastal sea, waterway, river & canal system, perform in a variety of location, regardless of logistics and services. The Amara Zee, after a complete refit, and new artistic painting in 2019/2020, is ready to sail and perform for many years to come.

The Hull Plating: 9mm mild steel to the bottom chime and seam welded
The Bottom Plating: 12mm with flat bottom mild steel plates seam welded to a 3” round bar chime.
The Hull Frames: 3” X 5” mild steel angles with 2” X 3.80 flat bar running the full length at 18” intervals.
The Bottom Frames: 8” X .250 mild steel bars with 2” X .250 flat bar forming a T on each floor beam.
The Leeboards: Stainless Steel plates and full-length frames of Stainless Steel 3” X 3” angles.
The Deck Plating: the port & starboard running decks & cabin top stages is 6mm
The Deck Plating: on anchor winch fore deck and mid ship winch deck and aft wheel deck is 12mm.
All Deck Frames: are fabricated with 3” X 23” X.250” mild steel angles with 2” X .250” flat bars running on edge the full length of the ship at 12” intervals.
All Running Decks: mid winch deck, fore deck, and wheel deck is planked with Red Balau Batu with stainless steel screws fastened into UMHW stripping held by SS studs welded to the steel deck. The planking is gapped by .200” spacing to allow for air circulation and cleaning between the steel & wood.
All Decks & Coamings: on the Main Cabin, Fore Cabin and Chart House are planked with Yellow Cedar bedded with SS screws into sealed pressure treated .5” plywood in turn fastened with SS welded studs, and calked with Sikaflex (renewed in 2020) and coated with 5 coats of Sikens Cetol (2020).
The Bulwarks: framed with 2” X 2” X .250” box tube steel and planked with Red Balau Batu (2020) with each tube steel stanchion encased in Stainless Steel box tube at the junction of the deck plating.

The Main Sprit: 60ft of 8” X Sch 40 of mild steel pipe.
The Mizzen Mast: 30ft of 5” X Sch 40 Stainless Steel pipe set in a steel tabernacle on the Charthouse deck.
