Steel three-masted Schooner With Accompanying Sail Charter Adventure Expedition Business
Steel three-masted gaff schooner 70ft on deck.
The opportunity to purchase a recently built, well-maintained sailing vessel with a sucessful independent charter (UK Limited Company) trading since 2005 including websites, facebook and other social media accounts, mailing lists etc. The price includes the business. If you wish to purchase without the business get in touch to discuss.
In 2023 Trinovante is sailing for Orkney and Shetland
This schooner is still in the hands of the original owners, a husband and wife team. Trinovante is competently maintained and regularly slipped.
Trinovante is currently UK Marine Coastguard Agency Small Commercial Sailing Vessel Category 2 (recently reduced from category 1 during covid) with a stability book for Category 0 - unlimited operation.
The rig is anually inspected and maintained and in excellent condition. The sails are synthetic canvas lowers (Clipper) with Terylene topsails and jibs.
During the past 15 years, this British schooner has become well known in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands, as well as her home on the east coast of the UK. This is a serious sea-going vessel designed for long-distance offshore sailing, with a functional and comfortable fit-out.
This three-masted schooner rig can be handled by two people but can also provide plenty of action for a larger crew.
Off the wind, this rig is a very gentle gyber and very stable goosewinged.
She feels stable and safe in rough weather and will often self steer. Reducing sail is usually done by dropping a sail rather than reefing.
A big spread of light weather canvas means she will ghost along in light airs.
There is a recent video of Trinovante at sea in some wind on Instagram (you will need to login to Instagram to view it) here
