CAPE ISLAND STYLE BOAT; IT HAS A 471 DETROIT DIESEL ENGINE AND 257 REDUCTION; THE BOAT HAS BEEN UP-DATED WITH FIBREGLASS OVER WOOD CONSTRUCTION; IT HAS: 100 GALLON FIBREGLASS WATER TANK, STAINLESS STEEL OIL COOKSTOVE, 2 BUNKS, CUPBOARDS AND SINK, WASHDOWN PUMP, FIBREGLASS FUEL TANKS 200 GALLONS, ALUMINUM DERRICK AND HYDRAULIC HAULER AND ELECTRONICS. THE ELECTRONICS INCLUDE SOUNDER, RADAR, LORAN-C, GPS AND 2 VHF RADIOS. IT WAS REWIRED 4 YEARS AGO. SAFETY EQUIPMENT INCLUDES: LIFE-RAFT, LIFE-RING, LIFE-JACKETS AND FLARES. The fluids in the engine and reduction have been changed every 300 hours. It has a basket on the blades for lobstering. The boat was built in 1979; it was professionally fibreglassed over wood in a boat shop about 14 years ago; the engine has 4000 hours on it after it was rebuilt (cost $14,000); it is a really good working engine and will start in the winter without ether; I have never used ether on the engine. Timbers and hooks in floor are good. Boat is really reliable for fishing as is. The cutless barren, stuffing box and shaft barren were redone and now have 2000 hours on them. A 24 mile Fruno radar goes with the boat for a spare and works good. It also has power steering and the make is Hydroslave. It has 2 batteries and a spare pump. The boat does not leak at all (hull or wheelhouse). It is a very good seaboat. The wood structure is built heavyduty. It has a stainless steel exhaust system from manifold to the muffler. It has a steel shoe on the keel. THE APPRAISED VALUE IS $29,000.00 AND COULD BE USED FOR FISHING OR PLEASURE. ARRANGEMENTS FOR DELIVERY CAN BE MADE. Ex royal naval survey vessel based on the minesweeper.H.M.S. Egeria built by Wm Weatherhead & Sons in Scotland.
She is of wooden construction 107ft (33.6m) long 22ft (6.7m) wide and a draft of 7ft(1.7m).
Total weight when fully laden 160tons twin davey paxman engines 700bhp and twin foden generators.
Cruising speed aprox 12 knots fully fueled range of 1400miles.
Electric trunked heating. Has decca navigation system.
Original design she had sleeping for 12 trainees and officers quarters of 9 plus enginneer cook and captain.
Due to a change in my personal circumstances she is now for sale. The boat runs and would be ideal as LIVEABOARD DIVE VESSEL, SURVEY SHIP, HOUSE BOAT, OR TRAINING SHIP. SHE HAD A REFIT BY VOSPER THORNYCROFT IN 1988.The boat needs work and is still in the same condition as used by the navy.
