This Ship truly is for those seeking to go to the most challenging ice condition regions, where it has been many times before AND IS CURRENTLY READY TO GO AGAIN JUST ADD CREW AND PROVISIONS!
There has been substantial interest in this vessel lately for visiting the Polar Caps, where there is so much discussions on advanced research on recent arctic petroleum finds. Many polar tour companies have considered visiting the Arctic in the Summer, and Antarctic in the Winter. The Vessel can accommodate 52 persons comfortable, and has room to expand.
An engineer has been on the vessel keeping things working, and the vessel is not run down. The vessel is kept FULLY HEATED in the Accommodations and Main Machinery Spaces. (This prevents any dampness from damaging the Electrical, and/or the accommodations.)
The Vessel is currently secured to the dock in Eastern Canada, and is being monitored daily. Vessel had several times asking price spent on major refit before being "retired" from the Coast Guard fleet only a few months later.

Material: Steel, very sturdy construction with 13,5 – 15 mm in some hull parts.
Length: 30.00 meters (lbp 28.10).
Beam: 12.73 meters.
Draft: 2.8 – 3.2 meters.
Air draft: 12 meters.
Tonnage: 351 GT, 106 NT.
Lwt: 373 tons.
Displacement: 433 tons.
Main engine: Diesel-electric propulsion, 2 x MTU 16V4000G60E, 3410 kW/1500 rpm. About 8200 running hours. 2 x Leroy Somer LSA 562 M60/4P generators 1880 kVA/1500 rpm/690V. Entire drive train renewed in 2003. CO2 fire suppressant in engine room.
4-blade propeller, 2.3 m diameter in nozzle, powered by a WEM DKMEB 9036-16U electric motor, 2156 kW, 0-360 rpm.
Bollard pull: 24 tons.
Bow thruster: Jastrum Veth Jet, 100 bHp electro-hydraulic.
Aux. engine: 1 x Caterpillar 3304 with 106 kVA/400V generator, 2 x Leroy Somer LSA 44.257 C6/4 shaft generators, 120 kVA/400V each.
Cruising speed: 9-10 knots on about 165 litres/hour. When breaking ice 200-900 lph depending on conditions. Top speed 12.5 knots. Bunkers: Diesel – 50 tons.
Fresh water – 10.1 m3.
Septic – 7 m3.
Classification: Finnish Maritime Administration, Area III trade. Ice class 1A. Certificates valid until 02.12.2008. Built to Ice class 1A Super. Broke 85 cm ice without much effort during sea trials.
Nav. equipment: C. Plath gyro compass, AMI-GFV compass repeater, Furuno FR2105 radar, Sailor RT 2048 VHF, C. Plath Navpilot II auto-pilot, Furuno FMV 601 echo-sounder, GMDSS compliant (Sailor RT 4822 DSC VHF, 2 x Icom GM 1500 E hand VHFs, Sailor SART, Sailor Sarellite Epirb, JMC NT-900 Navtex reciever), Saab AIS.
Equipment: Vingtor Intercom, 20 ton towing winch with 200 meters of 40 mm wire, two hydraulic winches in fore used for pusher tug duty and anchor winch, Hiab 60 Seacrane 3.400 kg/1,7 meters with hydraulic winch, Buster mob-boat with 20 bHp Johnson engine, 10 person Viking life-raft.
General arrangement: Wheelhouse with steering positions on both wings. Boat deck with captains cabin, chief cabin, two crew cabins, WC and shower. Double cabin and owners cabin on main deck, fully equipped galley, day-room and WC/shower. Workshops and stores aft of engine room. In fore below deck is the sauna, showers, laundry room and more stores.
Extensive refit in 2003 when engines, shaft, generators renewed and bow thruster, ice fins and external keel cooling fitted.
