The Royal Norwegian Navy has for sale KNM Horten and could be delivered promt. The vessel has been new certificated in February 2012 in DNV for 5 years with World wide trade certificate ice class c.
The vessel has civilian crew onboard.
The vessel was built as a Navy Supply vessel for Sub Marines and MTB Motor Torpedo Boats, in 1978 and have only 37.000 engine hours since new.
This vessel was built after DNV rules applicable for ice class C type vessels. She has been used as a School ship for the Norwegian Navy for many years, and has also been used for The Norwegian Royal Family when KS Norge was under repairs after a fire. She has also been used as a reserve vessel and following boat for The Norwegian Royal Family.

The vessel is new certificated 14.02.2012 by DNV (The Norwegian Veritas) for 5 years as cargo vessel World Wide trade. Following has been done in 2011: January/February-Purchased new SOLAS equipment, -Starting developing new safety plan During June/July/August/September/October/November 2011 -50 to 60Hz transformer 400V in container installed on berth alongside of the vessel -Developed new Safety Plan (rewritten in and remade in English with new SOLAS equipment and new equipment -Developed new GA plan in English and according to new arrangements onboard -Measured and issued new load line certificate (DNV) -Translated and marked all relevant operational equipment in English -Installed emergency fire pump with remote start (gasoil powered) -Opened all tanks and cofferdams for survey -All piping systems and valves pressure tested moved and repaired. -Washed all fresh water tanks and applied chloride on tank bulkheads -One piston on each Main engine pulled and inspected by maker (Wartsila) -All generators tested according to regulations (incl emergency generator) -Electricity boards and other electricity equipment tested acc. to class. -Anchor and chain checked and measured -All air vents moved and marked, opened and inspected and cleaned for corrosion and painted with Jotamastic -Cranes and other lifting arrangements repaired and recertified by approved company(Noble denton) -Replaced emergency battery pack -Installed AIS -Installed GMDSS with security alarm -Installed 3 new Sperry radars (2 x-band, 1 s-band) readymade chartradars (owners order and direction) -Installed 1 new gyro with repeaters -Installed Autopilot Robertson AP 50 -Sent in lube oil and other oil samples Dry docking -High pressure washed wet area -Cleaned and inspected all seachests -Inspected and certificate all seavalves -Spot primed wet area with Jotamastic -One layer of Primer, Vinyguard -Two layer of antifouling, Seaforce 30 -Marked footmarks (fwd and aft) -Marked load line and other important marks. -Replaced sacrificial anodes on hull (not rudders and thruster tunnel) -Measured clearance between propsleeve and shaft (outer) -Checked and inspected rudders and propeller. -Changed propeller sealing SB propeller. -Polished all propeller wings -Washed superstructure -IMO Number and vessel name marked on vessel Build up new ISM and ISPS by management company. New stability test done with DNV. There is a possibility for the new owner to be trained before the official take over. |
